Commercial EPCs (Energy Performance Certificates)
Following the EU Directive, the government introduced legislation stating that all commercial buildings, new and existing, whether tenanted or owner occupied, must have an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC).
The Certificate is designed to be familiar in appearance to that already used in the Retail electrical industry, as displayed on refrigerators, washing machines etc.
The Certificate is graded 'A' to 'G' representing the energy used per square metre of building area, 'A' being more efficient and 'G' being less efficient.
Since January 2009 an Energy Performance Certificate must be produced whenever a building is sold or let and is to be available as soon as the premises are marketed.
Most buildings will be affected, including:
- Retail Units
- Industrial Buildings
- Commercial Units
RBS Design Ltd are registered Carbon Consultants and Energy Assessors and have Certification under the CIBSE Scheme to produce non-domestic (Commercial) EPCs, up to and including Level 4.
We are pleased to provide advice on all Energy Conservation matters and offer free EPC quotations.
The cost of the EPC will be determined by the size and complexity of the development, starting from as little as £125, excluding the Lodgement Fee and VAT.
We offer a professional, considerate, service on a one to one basis; we do not employ outside assessors or consultants, preferring to provide a quality service to our clients at a competitive price.
Production of an EPC can be in as little as 24 hours, depending on the information available.
